Hollywood loves a good figure skating story. Just see the success of 2017’s I, Tonya for proof. But Hollywood also loves a good comeback story, which is exactly what Amber Glenn is delivering on — and off — the ice.

Glenn, the newly-crowned U.S. Figure Skating Women’s Champion, has landed her first-ever beauty deal, with a new campaign for AmLactin, a lactic acid-based moisturizer designed for people with rough or “bumpy” skin.

Glenn appears in photos and social media videos for the brand’s “#IAmLactinReady” campaign, which aims to shed stereotypes and stigmas around keratosis pilaris (KP), a common skin condition that causes dry, rough patches and tiny red bumps on the skin. Glenn bravely reveals her own struggles with KP, which can often cause itchy, flaky skin, especially during the dry winter months. As someone who competes in a winter sport, the figure skater says she has long been relying on AmLactin to help her “step onto the ice with confidence.”

The new campaign serves to promote AmLactin’s best-selling moisturizer, which uses 15% lactic acid as a gentle exfoliant to remove dead skin cells, with cosmetic-grade mineral oil and petrolatum to help restore moisture. The full-body cream is paraben-free, non-greasy and absorbs quickly. The result: softer, smoother, healthier-looking skin.

“I am thrilled to embark on this incredible mission with AmLactin for the #IAmLactinReady Uncover Your True Skin campaign,” Glenn says, in a release. “As someone who personally battles keratosis pilaris (KP), I understand the importance of feeling confident in your own skin. AmLactin has been my go-to solution, smoothing my skin and allowing me to step onto the ice with confidence, especially as I enter my journey to the Olympics. I hope my story can empower others on their road to uncovering their own true skin confidence.”

“We are excited about this unique opportunity to partner with Amber Glenn for the #IAmLactinReady campaign,” adds Heather Choe, Head of Marketing for AmLactin. “KP, commonly referred to as ‘chicken skin’ or ‘strawberry skin,’ is a prevalent skin condition that affects approximately 40% of adults and over half of teenagers. We believe Amber is the perfect spokesperson to authentically educate and bring awareness about KP and dry skin through her own personal skincare journey.”

Glenn isn’t the only person raving about AmLactin’s products: the moisturizer currently has a solid 4.2-star rating (out of five) from thousands of verified shoppers online, with reviewers commenting on the thick and nourishing texture and noting its moisturizing properties for all skin types — not just people with KP.

Glenn recently placed first at the 2024 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, scoring a total of 210.46 points to take home her first Nationals title. This was her first time atop the medal podium in nine appearances. The latest win also made her the first openly queer woman to win a U.S Figure Skating title.

Up next: an appearance at the World Figure Skating Championships in Montreal — the next stop on the road to the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
