Cillian Murphy is starring in a new project, his first after winning an Oscar for Oppenheimer.

The 47-year-old teamed with Donatella Versace to star in the fashion house’s new Icons campaign alongside another Versace veteran (and fellow Oscar winner), Anne Hathaway. Donatella praised the pair as “very Versace,” adding: “Strong, direct, iconic. For me, Anne and Cillian are two of the best actors of today. Exceptionally talented and kind people I admire and respect, looking their best.”

The campaign, shot by photographer pair Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott with styling by Jacob K, finds the two wearing pieces from the new line including a leather dress and denim bustier for Hathaway, and a trench and tailored suiting on Murphy.

Hathaway, 41, is a Versace muse who has worn the brand for many high profile red carpet appearances including the Met Gala. “I have met so many Versace women who are powerful, emotionally available, ambitious, substantive, funny, fierce, loving, singular, sexy, smart, talented, generous, very much like Donatella,” Hathaway said. “I have observed that a Versace woman is herself. I am so thrilled and honored to be considered a Versace woman and am overjoyed to reunite with the Versace family for another Icons campaign.”

Amid his award-winning run for Christopher Nolan’s best picture winner Oppenheimer, Murphy emerged as a style icon for his minimalist ensembles. In his statement, he revealed that he’s leaned into the role by being closely involved in the vision for Icons.

“Collaborating with Donatella — from sharing image references to selecting the music of Fountains D.C. for the video — resulted in a campaign that reflects who I am,” he said. “The collection of well cut empowering designs made from great fabric suits me perfectly.”
