Kicking off the award circuit found some Golden Globes attendees leaning into their 2023 oeuvres as inspiration for their looks — Emma Stone’s strong Poor Things brows, Oprah Winfrey’s Color Purple homage and Brie Larson’s retro ode to her chemist character Elizabeth Zott.
Others went with tried-and-true classics like va-va-voom curls pulled over one shoulder (Jennifer Lopez, Danielle Brooks, Winfrey) and nude lips (Jennifer Aniston, Emily Blunt). A few stars went for striking eyes (Selena Gomez’s red, Helen Mirren and Amanda Seyfried’s purples), while a quartet of other actresses — winners Lily Gladstone and Ayo Edebiri, nominee Natalie Portman and presenter Issa Rae — stole the show with their stunning makeup.
Here are four of the standout beauty looks of the night, including the exact products the glam squads used to nail each.
Lily Gladstone’s Creamy Complexion
Makeup pro Nick Barose has a talent for going bold with color, but is equally skilled at showing restraint and highlighting each client’s best assets. For Gladstone, that meant showcasing her flawless complexion, not hiding it under layers of fussy contour. For the Killers of the Flower Moon winner, he used Chanel Ultra Le Teint Foundation in BD21 ($65), a light-medium shade with golden undertones and Le Corrector concealer in B20 ($45), a light-medium shade with neutral undertones.

Ayo Edibiri’s Cheek Contour
The Bear winner enlisted makeup artist Dana Delaney to create her look, which accentuated the actress’s gorgeous cheeks. To make them pop, Delaney used Benefit Cosmetics products: Benetint onto the apples, followed by a dusting of Hoola Caramel bronzer over the top. She finished with Hoola Toasted bronzer on the outside perimeter of the face.

Natalie Portman’s Fresh Flush
The perfect way to complement a Dior gown that looks like a field of wildflowers? With rosy cheeks, naturally. The May December nominee’s regular makeup artist, Lisa Storey, used two Dior Backstage Rosy Glow Blush shades, in Cherry and Berry.

Issa Rae’s Glowing Complexion
Presenter Rae turned to her trusted makeup pro, Joanna Simkin, to create a look that would wow as much as her megawatt Pamella Roland gown. Simkin used a cocktail of Charlotte Tilbury glow-getting products for this look, including the Magic Serum Crystal Elixir, the new Magic Water Cream, Hollywood Flawless Filter (shade 7), Beautiful Skin Foundation (shade 13W), Beautiful Skin Bronzer (shade 4), Airbrush Flawless Finish setting powder (shade 4) and the Beauty Light Wand in Pinkgasm Sunset.
