How to Watch 2024 New Year’s Eve Specials Online

If you watch the best 2024 New Year’s Eve specials on your TV, smartphone or tablet, you’ll need a subscription to cable or streaming video-on-demand (SVOD) service to livestream the events. Most smart TVs already support SVOD apps, but if yours doesn’t, you’ll need to connect it to a streaming stick or device such as the Amazon Fire Stick, Apple TV, Google Chromecast or Roku.

Cable channels also let you live stream directly from their websites when you link your existing TV account. Check your cable TV provider for details.

Times Square New Year’s Eve Celebration (free webcast)

Ceremony start time: Dec. 31 at 6 p.m. ET; ball drops at midnight

Actor and TV personality Jonathan Bennett and longtime host Jeremy Hassell will return to co-host the 2024 New Year’s Eve ball drop in Times Square. The event will feature musical performances by Paul Anka and Flo Rida, plus a surprise video appearance and performance right after the ball drops at midnight.

Apart from musical performances, the webcast will also include a Chinese cultural performance presented by the Sino-American Friendship Association, and the New York dance group AGNEW.

As for the famous ball drop, Ali Krieger, Kelley O’Hara and Midge Purce are set to push the crystal button.

Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2024 (ABC)

The 52nd annual Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest airs on ABC starting at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET from Times Square, where executive producer Seacrest will host for the 19th year with Rita Ora. The NYC celebration will feature performances by LL Cool J (who had to cancel his 2021 appearance due to COVID-19) featuring DJ Z-Trip, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Jelly Roll, Sabrina Carpenter and Tyla.

Jeannie Mai will host the festivities in Hollywood, where she’ll join a musical lineup that includes Aqua, Doechii, Ellie Goulding, Green Day, Janelle Monáe, Loud Luxury x Two Friends with Bebe Rexha, Ludacris, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Paul Russell, Reneé Rapp with Coco Jones and Thirty Seconds to Mars.

Cardi B will perform poolside at Fontainebleau Miami Beach, while Post Malone will hit the stage at the new Fontainebleau Las Vegas. K-pop group NewJeans will also play from South Korea.

Other performers will include comedians Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, Patricia Williams, Matt Friend and Sebastian Maniscalco.

Dick Clark Productions is owned by Penske Media Eldridge, a joint venture between Penske Media Corporation and Eldridge that also owns The Hollywood Reporter.

Country music fans can ring in 2024 and livestream New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash, co-hosted by Elle King and Entertainment Tonight‘s Rachel Smith in Music City and CMT TV’s Cody Alan and WCBS-New York weather anchor Lonnie Quinn in Times Square. Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blake Shelton with Trace Adkins, Morgan Wallen, Thomas Rhett, Grace Bowers, Megan Moroney, Kane Brown and Bailey Zimmerman are among the 50 performances by the biggest names in country. The special airs live on CBS and streams on demand on Paramount+.

At 12:30 a.m. ET, Sara Sidner and Cari Champion will take over in Austin for the broadcast’s Central Time Zone countdown. Richard Quest will report from Times Square; Boris Sanchez from Miami; Gary Tuchman and his daughter, Lindsay, from Las Cruces, N.M.; Stephanie Elam from the Bahamas; and Randi Kaye from Key West, Fla.
